Plot: Bumpy the boss of Frank Lucas dies and there is a power vacuum on the streets of Harlem for the heroin market. Frank takes all his money and travels to Thailand to the source of heroin. He finds a grower and smuggles it into the United States to New York. Low and behold, Frank becomes the king pin of heroin, but a New Jersey detective, Richie Roberts, is on the case of finding where this pure heroin is coming from. Will he find it and stop it?
Extra thoughts: American Gangster is a well done movie. Denzel Washington did a good job in acting. Russell Crowe did a fair job as well. This is a true story and the editing of the film helped carry the story along. There is some violence and a bit of nudity. I think you should see it to educate yourself on what happened during this time in American history.
