Memorable supporting cast: James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, & Cab Calloway
Plot: Jake gets out of the Joliet State Penitentiary and Elwood is waiting. They visit the orphanage where they were raised to fulfill a promise Jake made to a nun. Jake and Elwood find out the orphanage owes back taxes and is going to be shut down.
After the visit, a church service where James Brown serves as the reverend, Jake gets a vision to put his band back together. The fun begins in ernest and they step on a lot of toes.
Extra thoughts: This movie is entertaining from the beginning and is packed with legendary blues and soul singers. It’s got a lot of great action and, of course, great music. John Belushi is at his best. This is a must see.
