Charlie Wilson's War See It

Main Actor(s)/Actresses: Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts

Memorable Supporting Cast: Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams

Plot: Charlie Wilson (Hanks) is a congressman from Texas who is persuaded by Joanne Herring (Roberts) to go to Pakistan to visit the refugee camps of the Afghanistan war. Seeing the reality of the carnage the Russians are inflicting on the Afghanistan people, Charlie Wilson takes it upon himself to find a way to fund arms and training for the Afghanistan people to fight back. See how it is portrayed in Charlie Wilson's War.

Extra thoughts: Charlie Wilson's War tells the story of Charlie Wilson and his effects to fight the Russians who invaded Afghanistan. Tom Hanks did his standard above par performance as Charlie Wilson. I think Julia Roberts was miscast. her acting was fine, but she could not pull off a blonde society woman; just looked out of place. This film shows you how things are 'wheeled and dealed' in Washington and the CIA. There was some nudity in the beginning of the film, but it wasn't really needed to carry the story. Maybe the producers wanted the 'R' rating. I found Charlie Wilson's War entertaining and recommend you see it.
