Plot: A transmission deep in outer space is picked up. It contains plans for a space transport mechanisms. Ellie Arroway’s team was the one to discover it. NASA decides to build it and politics plays a part in who would be the first to take a ride and Ellie is left out. The project brings out some crazy people. Will Ellie get to ride the device?
Extra thoughts: This film is based on a Carl Sagan book. I don’t find Contact to be a satisfying film. It does show how small the planet Earth is in comparison to the size of the universe.
