Plot:Dan is a widower who writes a newspaper column and is raising three daughters. They go to a family get-together in New England. Dan goes to a bookstore and meets a charming woman who falls for Dan. She has to leave reluctantly to go to a meeting. To Dan's surprise the girl from the bookstore is at the family get-together later because she is dating his brother. Will Dan get the girl?
Extra thoughts: Steve Carell does an excellent job in this movie. The writing and directing were excellent. It pulls in the minefield of families and the emotional baggage and understanding they have. I found Dan In Real Life entertaining. It shows Steve Carell's softer and more serious side. It has some funny moments as well. I say see it.
