Plot: Benjamin Finnegan has made deals with people of questionable character to fund his treasure hunting expedition. His treasure hunting even cost him his marriage. When he accidentally burns hi ex-wife's boat and it sinks to the bottom it unearths a piece of a plate from a treasure ship. He tells his ex-wife of the find and she joins him in the hunt for treasure. Other parties want the treasure too but by any means.
Extra thoughts: Fool's Gold is an entertaining film. It is a romantic-comedy with enough action to keep a guy entertained. Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson play a good pair as an antagonistic couple. There was some nudity, such as flashing of breasts. Donald Sutherland had a memorable performance in which he plays a multi-millionaire with a jet setting daughter. The plot and writing were fine as well. This would be a good date movie. I say see it.
