Plot: Nathan Johnson (Steve Martin), a Caucasian, grows up in Mississippi with a black mother, father and family. He hears a radio station from St. Louis that plays a song that gives him rhythm for the first time in his life. He decides St. Louis is his destiny and hits the road. On his journey, he acquires a dog with an expletive as its name. He gets a job at a gas station and invents the ‘optigrab’ for a customer. He joins the circus and then receives word that the ‘optigrab’ makes him rich. Love and drama play throughout this movie.
