Plot: On the eve of World War II, an older-middle aged poor woman finds herself unemployed from her governess job. She overhears of an opening for a job and goes to the residence. She is welcomed with open arms by Delysia and becomes her social secretary. Delysia takes Miss Pettigrew under her wing while Miss Pettigrew guides Delysia in matters of the heart.
Extra thoughts: Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day brings some class A acting to the screen. Frances McDormand, who plays Miss Pettigrew, gives a skillful performance The plot moves along and tells a heart-warming story. The movies is charming and well done. I say see it.
