Plot: The Mercury space program calls seven pilots to be the first American astronauts. The movie takes you through the breaking of the sound barrier to the Mercury space launches. It show John Glenn’s becoming the first American to orbit the Earth. It also shows the human element behind the scenes and the politics behind the endeavors.
Extra thoughts: If you are interested in airplanes and the first spacecraft you will like this movie. I feel this movie is somewhat incomplete, but what it showed was great. The book this movie was based on goes further than where this film ended. See it.
