Plot: Jackie Moon is the owner of the Flint Michigan Tropics, an ABA basketball franchise. The team is in difficult financial trouble when it is decided that the ABA will merge in to the NBA. Only the top four ABA teams will be allowed into the NBA. So, Jackie Moon makes trades to get his team into the top four. Will the Tropics make it and will Jackie Moon's crazy promotions draw in fans?
Extra thoughts: Semi-Pro should be called semi-amateur. Though it had some funny parts, it was more boring than funny. Will Ferrell has some good lines, but that is it. Woody Harrelson's character was more believable so there should have been more of him in the movie. The plot was weak and it was written to showcase Will Ferrell, but his antics got old fast. Don't waste your time with Semi-Pro. Skip it.
