Shutter
Main Actor(s)/Actresses: Joshua Jackson, Rachael Taylor and Megumi Okina
Memorable Supporting Cast: David Denman and John Hensley II
Plot: A newly wed couple travel to Japan to a cabin near Mount Fuji. While driving there, Jane hits a young woman on a dark and wooded highway. After the accident, the woman can't be found, but the woman starts showing up in photographs taken by Jane's new photographer husband, Benjamin. Who is this woman and why is she plaguing this couple.
Extra thoughts: Shutter brings in the paranormal into photography. The movie comes along in a realistic, sensible way and I applaud this for a horror movie. The visual richness of being shot in Japan is a great change of pace for movies from Hollywood. The acting was fine, the plot and dialogue were solid. My only hang up with Shutter is that it moved to slowly at times. For that reason I give it a so-so.
Director: Masayuki Ochiai
