Plot:The setting for this musical is in the 1930's with Hitler's rise to power in Europe. An Austrian ship captain has 7 children and is recently widowed. The problem is the kids keep running the nannies off with their antics. A call is made to a local convent. Maria a young nun is sent to care for the Von Trapp children. Will Maria hit it off with the children and Captain Von Trapp? Will Captain Von Trapp be called to join the German Navy?

Extra Thoughts: Set in the Alps the cinematography of The Sound of Music is stunning. The songs are now classics and very memorable. This wonderful family movie too. See it.
