Plot: Speed Racer idolized his brother, Rex Racer, as a child. But, when Rex Racer leaves to race for another team, Pops Racer banishes Rex Racer from the family. Speed Racer grows up and gets an offer to race for Mr. Royalton, but Speed turns him down and Mr. Royalton becomes Speed Racer's worst enemy.
Extra thoughts: Speed Racer was done in an over the top fashion. The CGI is top notch and the actors were well chosen. John Goodman and Susan Sarandon give some weight to the film. If they had made the movie more realistic instead of over the top I would have loved it. Batman Begins and Batman the Dark Knight is the style they should have aimed for. Even with the technicolor overload, Speed Racer hooked me in an I enjoyed it.
