The Spiderwick Chronicles
Main Actor(s)/Actresses: Freddie Highmore and Sarah Bolger
Memorable Supporting Cast: David Stathairn, Nick Nolte, Seth Rogan, Martin Short
Plot: A recently separated mo takes her three kids and move in to her mom's aunt's house. It turns out the house contains a book of knowledge of the unseen world. One of her twin sons opens the book and the unseen world comes to life. But the evil Mulgarath wants the book so he can destroy the world. Will they protect the book from Mulgarath and save their world?
Extra thoughts: The Spiderwick Chronicles is a children's movie which does not interject the cliches of today into it. The acting was solid and the CGI was up to par. With all the creatures with big teeth and long claws I don't feel it would be to overwhelming for the younger audience. Some of the creatures are cute and nasty. The plot and writing were ok also. But all in all I found it would be entertaining movie for the 12 and under audience.
