Plot: John Winger gets dumped by his girlfriend after he loses his job as a taxi driver. He and his friend Russell go to the army recruiting office and join up. They get shipped to basic training and Winger butts heads with sergeant Hulka his drill sergeant. Stillman, an incompetent captain, played by John Larroquet, mortars Sergeant Hulka and injures him. Winger’s platoon, by uncommon means, complete basic training and is put in charge of the EM-50 project where, of course, it gets screwed up.
Extra thoughts: This is a great movie. You’ll laugh. It’s packed full of stars and lots of fun. See it.
