Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Skip It

Main Actor(s)/Actresses: Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, and Helena Bonham Carter

Memorable Supporting Cast: Jamie Campbell Bower, Laura Michelle Kelly, Ed Sanders, and Jayne Wisener

Plot: Benjamin Barker is sent to jail for 15 years on trumped up charges by a judge who covets his wife. Barker comes back to London, now with the name Sweeney Todd, to seek revenge for the loss of his wife and daughter. He set up a barber shop over a shop where he joins forces with its owner to see revenge.

Extra thoughts: Sweeney Todd is an opera put to film. May I say it is gruesome, bloody, and dark. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter pull off the singing and acting in good performances. For some artistic reason, the director chose to make it as bloody as a slaughter house. If tempered, I feel it would have been broadened the films appeal to a wider audience; artistic license prevailed. If you like blood and gore then you'll like Sweeney Todd, if you can stand the singing and vice versa - If you enjoy dark operas, but can stand a blood bath. So, if you like blood, operas, and revenge. I say see it, but the general audience should skip it.
