Plot: Rose (Winslet) and Jack (DiCaprio) are on opposite ends of the social ladder, but both are on the maiden voyage of the "unsinkable" Titanic. The two meet and fall deeply in love with one another - a forbidden love by Rose's family and a heartbreak for her fiance. As passengers enjoy their cruise over the ocean they don't know the horror that awaits them as the ship strikes an iceberg and begins to sink. Women and children board the lifeboats, but there aren't enough for everyone. Jack and Rose both float off into the frigid waters. Rose is rescued, but Jack doesn't survive. Rose, retelling this tale throughout the movie, holds on to the horrific memories of that terrible night as well as her love for Jack - forever.
Extra thoughts: This is a great film with good cinematography. It holds a little history and a lot of romance. The soundtrack and the song "My Heart Will Go On" became a huge success.
