Plot: Lt. Pete Mitchell (Maverick) gets picked by forfeit to go to the Navy’s elite flight school call “Top Guns”. Maverick and Goose butt heads with the other pilots and instructors. In a movie packed with great flying and a great supporting cast, Maverick gets involved romantically with Charlotte Blackwood, a civilian flight consultant and sparks fly. Also, Maverick is looking for the truth of his father’s death in Vietnam.
Extra thoughts: This movie made Tom Cruise a mega-star. It is filled with some great one-liners and some corny moments as well. It also has the hit song “Highway to the Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins. If you haven’t seen it; do so.
