Twelve O’Clock High
Main Actor(s)/Actresses: Gregory Peck
Memorable supporting cast: Hugh Marlowe, Gary Merrill, Millard Mitchell and Dean Jagger
Plot: Gregory Peck, as Frank, is asked to take over the fighting 98th squadron after it suffers serious losses in the daylight bombing of the Germans. The movie shows how he turns around the unit to its utmost performance. Frank wins the hearts of his squadron and shows them what “maximum effort” is. Real war footage is shown of actual daylight WWII B-17 combat over Germany.
Extra thoughts: This is one of my favorite WWII movies; definitely a top 10. This film is shown to American Armed Forces pilots to show the chain of command. See it.
