Plot: During WWII A team of allied commandos parachute into the German Alps to rescue an american general before he talks. The general is kept in a fortified castle on the side of a mountain thousands of feet up. The only way to get to and from the castle is by gondola lifts. Major Smith and Lt. Shaffer get assistance getting into the castle but getting out will be more tricky.
Extra thoughts: Where Eagles Dare is loaded with action. Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood give you a high altitude movie loaded with excitement, chases, gun battles, double agents and explosions. It is a shame you don't see it on TV more often. If you are an Eastwood fan you will love it. See it.
